A pristine and glamorous ballgown, horse and carriage, dancing the night away, and of course, Prince Charming. Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day. Amra looked every bit the part. And her prince, Renzo, would agree. It turns out fairy tales were made to come true.
And, just like in those tales, Amra and Renzo had their own obstacle to overcome at their wedding. The wind just did not want to cooperate that day with up to 20mph gusts! With an outdoor ceremony at the beautiful Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club, you can imagine the amount of angst and concern this would cause. Between blowing away chairs, decorations, and the perfectly done hair – Amra had plenty of bridal stress that she could have let made her crazy, but she wore it all perfectly, with a smile.
But of course, there were tears. However, these were tears of love, of thankfulness, and of true bonds. At the reception, Amra’s sister presented a slideshow as part of her maid of honor speech. Amra tells us, “I think it told a great story, especially me to Renzo’s family and about Renzo to my family. It was embarrassing since I hadn’t seen it before and it was meant as a surprise. My sister chose all the cute baby pictures of Renzo but all the embarrassing ones of me. Despite this, I am really glad we had it there.”
Looking back, the couple’s favorite wedding day moment was the ceremony itself and all the fun dancing at their reception. Being surrounded by their closest family and friends made every moment truly special. Amra “worked really hard to make sure all the little decorations came together. [I] ordered bee charms, got ribbons, got personalized honey labels and put it all together using my dad’s raw honey as a wedding favor.” She also purchased water bottles and matching stickers for the ceremony and late night snacks for her guests, which included cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes and baklava with another personalized sticker to match. One of our favorite moments was watching the lovely newlyweds release white doves together. It really was magical. Everything they did had Amra’s creative and signature touch.
When we asked if she had anything else she wanted to share, Amra said, “This was one of the most amazing nights of my life so far and I am so happy I will have the photographs and the video to re-live it over and over again!”
Amra and Renzo returned from their honeymoon in Fiji to their shared home in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. We wish them nothing but their happily ever after.
